Our Story
The 55/110 Whiskey Club was born out of a simple idea that whiskey is better when it’s shared. We started as a tight group of enthusiasts who gathered at 55 South, a beloved downtown San Jose bar that’s been part of the local scene for over a decade. Over time, our shared love for exceptional pours turned into something bigger: a community.
The name 55/110 pays homage to that origin 55 South as our home base, and 110 as a nod to high-proof, full-flavor whiskey that makes a lasting impression. What began as casual tastings has grown into curated barrel picks, sold-out events, and a membership experience that keeps our community connected all year long.

How We Choose Our Whiskey
Our barrel selection process is part art, part science with a lot of fun mixed in. We taste, debate, and narrow down until we find a whiskey that speaks to us and to you. From distillery visits to private tastings, our members often get a behind-the-scenes look at how these decisions are made, and sometimes even a vote on the final choice.
Where You’ll Find Us
Most of our gatherings and bottle pickups happen at 55 South and SP2 in downtown San Jose. But you’ll also see us popping up at partner venues, special tastings, and distilleries when the right opportunities come along.
